75% tax: "Taking into account the fragility of the football business model" (Valerie Fourneyron)

"There is no derogatory and special measure for football, which will be concerned by the tax on high-income. However, we have taken into account the fragility of its economic model. This is why we decided to cap the amount to 5%, depending on the turnover of the clubs," said Valerie Fourneyron, French Minister of Sports, Youth, Popular Education and Community Life on the 30/09/2013.

"The measure will apply to income of 2013 and 2014. The impact of this new version is, however, far below the numbers given by Frédéric Thiriez (President of the LFP, the French Professional Football League)," she added in an interview to Le Figaro, referring to prognosis issued by Frédéric Thiriez at the LFP's general meeting on the 03/07/2013: "If implemented in full, this device will cost us €82m, 15 out of 20 clubs will be affected," he said then.
