SSC Naples threat to build a stadium in the suburbs if the city does not sell them the San Paolo

Aurelio De Laurentiis, President of SSC Naples (Serie A) has threatened to build a new stadium in the suburbs of the city if the municipality does not sell him the San Paolo Stadium venue, to build a new stadium, on the 29/09/2013. The club president has been negotiating with the city of Caserta, 40 km north of Naples, to build this stadium.

"I am very worried because the mayor said he would sell me the San Paolo, and political negotiations take a long time. I will not wait beyond Tuesday to know their prices," said Aurelio De Laurentiis. "If I have not answer, I will go to the mayor of Caserta, to reach an agreement. I will begin the construction of the new stadium, on the 02/01/2014, because they are serious people. If the mayor of Naples says he does not have the power to sell me the San Paolo venue, I think he will have to resign," he added.

Several Italian media reported the will of the President of SSC Napoli to leave Italy to the United States if he does not receive the necessary guarantees of from the City council.
