CONMEBOL: IMG & Perform have acquired global media and marketing rights for club competitions

A consortium between IMG, a media rights and marketing agency, and Perform, a British group specialising in the production of sports content on digital platforms, has acquired the global distribution of media and marketing rights for CONMEBOL club competitions for the period of 2019-2022, on 27/09/2017.

"I am pleased to announce that, through a competitive bidding process, with clear rules and multiple guarantees to ensure its integrity, CONMEBOL has accepted an offer of a guaranteed minimum amount of $1.4bn (€1.2bn) for media rights and marketing of continental club tournaments including the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and Recopa Sudamericana," said Alejandro Domínguez, president of CONMEBOL, on 27/09/2017.

"The IMG-Perform consortium and CONMEBOL will work closely together with the objective of maximising the income of South American football. It is not inconceivable that during this process CONMEBOL will get more than the guaranteed minimum amount of $1.4bn, secured by bank guarantees," specified CONMEBOL on 27/09/2017.
