Turkey: Italian Roberto Mancini named new coach of Galatasaray

Italian Roberto Mancini has been named coach of Galatasaray (Süper Lig, Turkey), on the 30/09/2013. The Italian coach has signed a contract until 2015/16. He will receive €3.5m in 2013/14 and €4.5m for the following two years. He takes over Turkish Fatih Terim, who held the position from the 14/05/2011 to the 24/09/2013, and was sacked for lack of results.

Various bonuses will be paid to the Italian coach depending on the results in Turkish and European championships: Roberto Mancini will receive €1.25m if the club finishes first in the Süper Lig, and €500,000 if the clubs wins the Turkish Cup. In case of victory in the final of the Champions League, the technician will be paid €2.5m. If the club wins in the Europa League, he will receive €1.15m.

This is the fifth club trained by Roberto Mancini. He left Manchester City (Premier League, England), on the 13/05/2013.
