Facebook: 235.3 million fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (October 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season had a cumulative 235.3 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data recorded by News Tank Football on 01/10/2017. This total makes LaLiga Santander the second most popular Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with an average of 11.8 million fans on per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most followed Spanish club with more than 106 million Facebook fans. The defending Spanish champion and winner of the 2016-17 Champions League is also the fastest growing club with 129,364 additional fans (+0.1%) over the month of September 2017.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF together have more than 209.5 million fans, representing more than 89% of the total of all LaLiga Santander clubs and more than the 58 clubs of the Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 Conforama together.

With an additional 6.1% of fans (from 71,915 to 76,299), Girona FC, promoted from LaLiga 1|2|3, is the LaLiga Santander club with the best percentage growth on Facebook for the fourth consecutive month.
