UEFA to launch a tender for the French national team's matches for the 2014-2018 period

UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) has launched a tender among French broadcasters for the rights to broadcast matches of the national team for the 2014-2018 period, on the 30/09/2013. Broadcasters have to bid on five broadcasting packages before the 08/11/2013.

This procedure does not apply to broadcast rights, in France, for the final phase of Euro 2016, held in France from the 10/06 to the 10/07/2016. These rights were acquired in March 2013, by pay-TV channel beIN Sport (all of the 51 games of the tournament) and free-to-air channels TF1 and M6 (11 fixtures each, co-distribution with beIN Sport). The three TV channels will broadcast the matches of the national team (automatically qualified) during the tournament.

After the 2014 World Cup (from the 12/06 to the 13/07/2013 in Brazil) and to the European Championship, the French team will play friendly matches, and after the European tournament, they will take part in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup held in Russia.
