Amos Genish has been promoted to CEO of Telecom Italia, announced the Italian telecom operator on 28/09/2017. He replaces Flavio Cattaneo, who had held the position since March 2016 and left office on 24/07/2017. The Israeli Amos Genish was appointed the COO of Telecom Italia on 28/07/2017, having previously been the convergence manager at Vivendi, the largest shareholder of Telecom Italia, from January to July 2017.

The Board of Directors of Telecom Italia also approved, by majority vote, the principle of the creation of a joint venture with Canal+ to "accelerate projects of convergence between telecom and the media." The joint venture will focus on the production and co-production of Italian and international content, and on the acquisition of rights, particularly in sport. The decision will once again be subject to the final approval of the Board of Directors once this new structure with Canal+ has been defined.
