Olympique Lyonnais: €250m in turnover in 2016-17 (+15%), "Success of the new business model"

The total revenue of Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama) amounted to €250m at 30/06/2017, compared to €218.1m one year earlier, an increase of €31.8 (+15%), announced OL Groupe, the holding company which owns the Lyon club, and which highlighted the "success of the new business model" after having closed the financial statements for 2016-17 on 03/10/2017.

Revenue excluding player trading reached a record high of €198.3m (+€38.3m, + 24% compared to 2015-16). Operation of the Groupama Stadium, which OL Groupe was able to enjoy for the first time over a full fiscal year, contributed €44m (+€16.2m, +58%) in matchday revenue. TV and marketing rights income increased by €98.9m (+€15.9m, or +19%) due to the group stage participation in the Champions League followed by a trip to the Europa League semi-finals in 2016-17 (elimination by AFC Ajax 5-4 on aggregate). Partnerships and advertising revenue totaled €29.1m, compared with €26.9m in 2016-17, an increase of €2.2m (+8%).
