Catalonia: FC Barcelona call for "a process of dialogue and negotiation" (JM Bartomeu)

"FC Barcelona, as one of the leading bodies in the country, request that a process of dialogue and negotiation be opened to find political solutions to the current situation in Catalonia," said Josep Maria Bartomeu, president of FC Barcelona, on 05/10/2017, while reading a document entitled "FC Barcelona: Dialogue, Respect and Sport."

Since Sunday, 01/10/2017, the day of the Catalonia independence referendum, which saw a 90% majority in favour of independence after a controversial poll, the situation has been tense in this region as well as in the rest of Spain. On the day of the referendum, FC Barcelona played behind closed doors at the Camp Nou against UD Las Palmas (3-0 win), after failing to get the match postponed by LaLiga.
