Launch of the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2014 on the 01/10/2013, final in Rio de Janeiro

FIWC (FIFA Interactive World Cup), interactive competition organised by FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) in partnership with EA Sports and PlayStation will begin on the 01/10/2013. FIFA 14 players will compete online in virtual football matches.

20 people will then be selected based on their performance for the Grand Final, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro during the XXth World Cup, held from the 12/06 to the 07/13/2014 in Brazil. This is the first time the finals of FIFA Interactive World Cup will take place in the host country of the World Cup.

The 2013 edition of the competition gathered 2.5 million participants. This figure is an increase of 91.3% compared to 2012 (1,306,821 players). Bruce Grannec (France) won the 2013 edition for the second time in Madrid (Spain) on the 08/05/2013.
