Spain: Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, imagines a Spanish championship without the Catalan clubs

"If the rebellion continues and triumphs at the end, we would work for a league without FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) without RCD Espanyol (LaLiga Santander), without Nàstic de Tarragona (LaLiga 1| 2|3), without Girona FC (LaLiga Santander)," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, on 07/10/2017.

"We will see what happens with the declaration of independence. If it happens, I will call the Catalan clubs. The break would not be immediate, but it would depend on the Catalan Football Federation. If it supports this position, the clubs would be expelled from Spanish football competitions. We must respect the rules," said Javier Tebas, who also announced via Twitter his intention to participate in the demonstrations against the independence of Catalonia in Madrid on Saturday 07/10/2017 and then in Barcelona on Sunday 08/10/2017 (see below).

"A few months ago, I could not imagine LaLiga without Barça and Espanyol, but now, unfortunately, I see it as a possibility. We would lose value, but we would not find it very difficult to recover from this," said Javier Tebas on 07/10/2017.
