The 2018 World Cup at eight months of the opening match at the Lujniki Stadium in Moscow on 14/06/20

"On 02/12/2010, the FIFA Executive Committee appointed the Russian Football Federation (RFU) as the organizing association for the 2018 World Cup final competition. The organizing association is responsible for organizing, the hosting, and the conduct of the final competition (including security throughout its duration)," states Article 2 of the regulations for the 2018 World Cup, approved by the FIFA Council on 14/10/2016 and entered into force on the same day.

The opening match of the 2018 World Cup is scheduled at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Thursday 14/06/2018, and the final will be held in the same venue 32 days later on Sunday 15/07/2018. The 32 qualified teams will be divided into eight groups of four, from A to H, at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Friday 01/12/2017.
