Serie A TIM: Lega doubles its international TV rights for 2018-2021, IMG and RAI to pay €371m / year

"The Assembly of the Lega Serie A, meeting in Milan (ITA), have awarded the international audiovisual rights to the Serie A for the three season 2018-2021 period, for a total value of €371m per season to IMG (international TV and betting rights) and to RAI (broadcasting rights to Italian communities abroad)," announced the Lega Serie A on 10/10/2017.

"We have established a value of Italian football which doubles the revenues obtained by the Lega Serie A in the previous period (2015-2018). This is the result of the important work that led to the 18 clubs present to approve the deliberation by acclamation and we are satisfied with the work done by all," said Carlo Tavecchio, president of the FIGC, and also acting commissioner of the Lega Serie A since 21/04/2017. Over the 2015-2018 period, the international TV rights of the Serie A amounted to €186m per year. In comparison, the domestic broadcasting rights to the Serie A currently bring in €945m per year during 2015-2018 cycle.
