UEFA: Portuguese football legend Luis Figo joins N. Kessler and D. Stankovic as a football advisor

"As a player, he was a global superstar who won a multitude of titles and awards during an illustrious career that spanned almost two decades. Now, Luis Figo is bringing his wealth of knowledge and expertise to UEFA as he joins the organisation as a football advisor," announced UEFA on 11/10/2017.

"The former UEFA Champions League winner will work with president Aleksander Ceferin and the Football Division across a variety of matters including technical aspects of the game, laws of the game and the overall attractiveness of the sport. He will also be the leading figure of the UEFA ambassadors programme," added the European confederation.

Luis Figo, winner of the Ballon d'Or in 2000, presented his candidacy for the FIFA presidency in the 2015 election on 29/05/2015, before giving up after a few days before the ballot that re-elected Joseph Blatter. He then supported the candidacy of Gianni Infantino, "the representative, according to him, of a new generation of leaders", in the election on 26/02/2016.
