2018 World Cup: draw for the UEFA-zone play-offs in Zurich (SUI) on 17/10/2017 (14:00 CET)

Sweden, Switzerland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Denmark, Italy, Greece, and Croatia, the eight best second place finishers in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup UEFA-zone qualification (Slovakia, ninth-best, eliminated), will be allocated their play-off opponents at the draw held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich (SUI) on Tuesday 17/10/2017 at 14:00 CET.

Switzerland (11th), Italy (15th), Croatia (18th), and Denmark (19th) are the four best seeded teams in the FIFA rankings on 16/10/2017. They will be placed in Pot 1, while the other four; Northern Ireland (23rd), Sweden (25th), Republic of Ireland (26th), and Greece (47th), will be in Pot 2. The draw will determine which teams play each other ,and also the order of the matches (read below).

The nine winners of the UEFA-zone groups (France, Portugal, Germany, Serbia, Poland, England, Spain, Belgium, and Iceland) have already qualified for the 21st World Cup, in Russia from 14/06 to 15/07/2018.
