2018 World Cup: draw for the UEFA-zone play-offs in Zurich (SUI) on 17/10/2017 (14:00 CET)

Sweden, Switzerland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Denmark, Italy, Greece, and Croatia, the eight best second place finishers in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup UEFA-zone qualification (Slovakia, ninth-best, eliminated), will be allocated their play-off opponents at the draw held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich (SUI) on Tuesday 17/10/2017 at 14:00 CET.

Switzerland (11^th), Italy (15^th), Croatia (18^th), and Denmark (19^th) are the four best seeded teams in the FIFA rankings on 16/10/2017. They will be placed in Pot 1, while the other four; Northern Ireland (23^rd), Sweden (25^th), Republic of Ireland (26^th), and Greece (47^th), will be in Pot 2. The draw will determine which teams play each other ,and also the order of the matches (read below).

The nine winners of the UEFA-zone groups (France, Portugal, Germany, Serbia, Poland, England, Spain, Belgium, and Iceland) have already qualified for the 21^st World Cup, in Russia from 14/06 to 15/07/2018.
