Protocol signed between FIFPro and supporters for a "sustainable, and better-governed" football

FIFPro Europe (the European branch of the International Federation of Professional Footballers) and SD Europe (Supporters Direct Europe) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in which both parties recognise that "players and supporters have to stand together, and highlight their shared interest in making the game more stable, sustainable, and better-governed," on the 01/10/2013.

The protocol should have five objectives: promoting improved governance and sustainable financing of professional football in Europe, involving players and supporters in decision and policy making frameworks, fight against the problems that affect the relationship between players and fans (racism , violence, discrimination), the development of football as a cultural and economic good (broadcast rights, new media) and the ongoing fight against match-fixing and other threats that undermine the integrity of football.
