The social network Twitter has launched a new feature called "Happening now" in the United States, to allow quicker access to what is happening at a precise moment in time. The feature was first deployed with notifications in connection with sporting events, on 10/10/2017.

Situated above the "Twitter feed", "Happening now", currently only available in the United States, allows users to access a page containing a live scoreboard and tweets related to that game, by clicking on an image of the sporting event.

The feature is available on Twitter for iOS or Android applications, and users have the option to hide it if events do not interest them.
