Ligue 1 Conforama: Paris Saint-Germain joins World Day against Food Waste

"To mark the 5^th annual World Day against Food Waste, Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 conforama) reiterates is position as an environmentally responsible club," said the club on 16/10/2017.

"Over the course of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, the French capital club recovered more than 2.5 tonnes of food after matches at the Parc des Princes, in association with Sodexo, and then redistributed this the next day to various charities via Le Chaînon manquant. 4,726 meals were given to the needy. The programme is running again this year (2017-18)," added Paris Saint-Germain.

"Since 2015, recyclable glasses have been used at the Parc des Princes and the lids of bottles sold at the Parc have been collected and donated to 'Les bouchons d’amour', which essentially donate to helping handicapped sport," concluded the Parisian club.

Created in 2013, the World Day against Food Waste aims to reduce waste by 50% for the entire food chain by 2025.
