Matchday 9 of the 2017-18 Premier League season drew an average of 42,922 spectators per game, from 20 to 22/10/2017, the highest average attendance since the start of this season. The average stadium fill rate was 96%.

Tottenham Hotspur FC - Liverpool FC (4-1), on Sunday 22/10/2017 (kick-off at 16:00 local time), was the game that recorded the highest attendance of the weekend, with 80,827 spectators at Wembley (commercial capacity: 90,000; fill rate of 90%). This was the largest crowd in the history of the Premier League since its inception. Five games drew more than 40,000 spectators, and none less than 20,000.

The average attendance of the Premier League reached 38,555 spectators per game after nine matchdays, for an average fill rate of 95%.

  • The 20 clubs of the Premier League recorded an average of 35,819 spectators per match in 2016-17, for a fill rate of 96%.
