Brazil 2014: clubs have until the 31/10/2013 to ask FIFA for a share of the profits

Clubs who wish to receive a share of profits from the World Cup 2014 in Brazil have until the 31/10/2013 to send their applications forms to FIFA's (Federation Internationale de Football Association) headquarters in Zurich (SWI).

FIFA's executive committee has earmarked $ 70m (€ 51.5m), to be the gross amount "before taxes and deductions," shared by the clubs to which belong the 736 participants of the final phase (32 teams of 23 players) during the two years preceding the competition, to be held from the 12/06 to the 13/07/2014.

These compensations take into account for each club, the number of selected players and the number of days they are present: the period starts two weeks before the first match of the considered selection and ends the day after the team is eliminated or wins the final.

Amount of compensation per day per player: $ 2,800, or about € 2,060.

  • As profit sharing takes into account clubs of the past two seasons before the final stage, a club that has transferred during the summer of 2013 a player who could participate in the 2014 World Cup has to complete a form if…
