MLS: WFAN to acquire the broadcasting rights to New York City FC matches from 2015

New York radio station WFAN has acquired the broadcasting rights to matches of the MLS (Major League Soccer) franchise New York City FC, the company announced on the 03/10/2013.

English club Manchester City and US baseball franchise New York Yankees have joined on the 21/05/2013 to acquire the right to create the twentieth team of the North American professional football league. New York City FC will start in MLS during the 2015 season.

WFAN will comment on the matches of the New York franchise from their beginning in MLS in 2015. The partnership, which covers "several years" according to WFAN's press release, also includes the rights to broadcast friendly matches that will play New York City FC during the contract period.
