Bayern Munich: record-high for turnover (€640m,+2%) and net profit (€39m, +19%) in 2016-17

The FC Bayern Munich group (Bundesliga) achieved a turnover of €640.458m in the 2017 fiscal year (from 01/07/2016 to 30/06/2017), an increase of 2.2% compared to the 2015-16 fiscal year (€626.8m), announced the club on 21/10/2017. This is the highest turnover in the history of the Bavarian club.

This figure includes the activities of the company FC Bayern München AG (which manages the professional football section), the Allianz Arena Stadion GmbH (which manages the stadium) and other subsidiaries of the club.

The pre-tax income of the FC Bayern Munich group amounted to €66.2m, up 22.2% year-on-year (€54m). The club had a net profit of €39.19m (+18.6%, €33m).

"Our failure to progress beyond the quarter-final of the Champions League against Real Madrid (defeated 6-3 an aggregate after extra time) and not reaching the DFB-Pokal final (defeat 3-2 against Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals) cost us around €25m," said Jan-Christian Dreesen, vice chairman of the board of FC Bayern Munich AG in charge of finance.
