FIFA: Joseph Blatter will visit Iran on the 11/06/2013

Joseph Blatter, President of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) will travel to Tehran (Iran) on the 06/11/2013. It was first announced by semi-official news agency Fars, and then confirmed by FIFA, on the 07/10/2013.

During his stay, the President of FIFA "could meet with" the Iranian president, Hassan Rohani, stated Fars. On Joseph Blatter's agenda are planned a dinner at a great restaurant in Tehran as well as the closing ceremony of a sports festival for children. Manchester United's former coach Sir Alex Ferguson could also be present on that day.

In the region, Joseph Blatter was given the mission at the 63rd Congress of FIFA, on the 31/05/2013, to appease the current football situation in Palestine and in particular to reach an agreement with the Israeli and Palestinian regarding the free movement of persons and goods, for which a Palestine-Israel Task Force was established. "I am happy with the progress made between Israel and Palestine at a football level. Our game can build bridges," wrote the president of FIFA, on the 04/10/2013 on Twitter.
