FIFA: Joseph Blatter will visit Iran on the 11/06/2013

Joseph Blatter, President of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) will travel to Tehran (Iran) on the 06/11/2013. It was first announced by semi-official news agency Fars, and then confirmed by FIFA, on the 07/10/2013.

During his stay, the President of FIFA "could meet with" the Iranian president, Hassan Rohani, stated Fars. On Joseph Blatter's agenda are planned a dinner at a great restaurant in Tehran as well as the closing ceremony of a sports festival for children. Manchester United's former coach Sir Alex Ferguson could also be present on that day.

In the region, Joseph Blatter was given the mission at the 63^rd Congress of FIFA, on the 31/05/2013, to appease the current football situation in Palestine and in particular to reach an agreement with the Israeli and Palestinian regarding the free movement of persons and goods, for which a Palestine-Israel Task Force was established. "I am happy with the progress made between Israel and Palestine at a football level. Our game can build bridges," wrote the president of FIFA, on the 04/10/2013 on Twitter.
