CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) will hold its first summit on development through football, on the 22/10/2013 in the Cayman Islands. The main objective of this meeting is to strengthen partnerships between governments and associations to allow the sport to grow in the CONCACAF region.

The general theme of the summit is "transformation through partnership". This is to encourage social and economic developments as well as sports tourism opportunities. "The profound impact of football on societies (including health, education, and crime prevention)," " the economic legacies of football (sports tourism, hosting events, etc.)", "Creating successful cross-sector and public/private partnerships" and "Players’ and coaches’ perspectives on how the game has changed their lives, and can change those of others," are the topics that will be developed during the symposium.

The summit is part of the development seminar organised by FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) and CONCACAF, scheduled from the 20/10 to the 23/10/2013.
