Spain: Vicente Casado appointed marketing director of the Federation, Marcelino Maté vice-president

Vicente Casado has been appointed the marketing director of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, announced the the body after the meeting of its Executive Committee, chaired by Juan Luis Larrea, on 25/10/2017. Vicente Casado replaces María José Claramunt, who held this position until 19/10/2017.

Born in Paris (FRA) of Spanish immigrant parents living in France, he began his career as a training manager at the "Action Michel Platini" foundation. Vicente Casado moved to Spain in 2002, where he was the marketing director of Malaga CF (LaLiga Santander) and, for one year, director of international development at LaLiga.

At the RFEF, his task will be to stop the fall in sponsorship revenues which, in 2016, decreased by 22.3% to €32.2m, and could fall to €25m in 2017, which would bring the federation back to the 2012 level.
