FIFA: the 32 teams in the 2018 World Cup in Russia will share €340.4m, 12% more than in 2014

The money allocated for the 2018 World Cup in Russia that will be shared by the 32 participating teams is set at $400m (€340.4m on 27/10/2017), 12% more than the $358m (€304.6m) for the 2014 edition in Brazil, announced FIFA after its Council meeting in Kolkata (IND), on 27/10/2017, on the eve of the final of the U17 World Cup (England - Spain, 5-2, on 28/10/2017, kick-off at 20:00 local time, 16:30 CET).

Thus, the winner of the 2018 World Cup will receive a sum of $38m (€32.3m on 27/10/2017) versus the $35m (€25.7m on July 13, 2014) that Germany received (see table to download) after winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The FIFA Council ratified the decision of the Bureau of the Council on 06/09/2017 to approve the improved regulations for the 2026 World Cup (see document to download) and appointed members of the working group on the evaluation of these offers.
