Sportel 2017: "A mobile first platform, killer content for a niche audience" (M. Luer, SportsFix)

"SportsFix is a mobile first platform. For twenty years, at Total Sports Asia, we traded rights so we understand the content and therefore, we went for niche content, not the most expensive. We bought everything else rather than what the top telecom companies have (acquired). Our content is a killer content for a niche audience. For example, we acquired the rights of the Indonesian football league in Malaysia, it is the 'SportsFix' for the Indonesian community there," said Marcus Luer, CEO of the OTT platform SportsFix (launched in Malaysia in August 2017) at the 2017 edition of Sportel Monaco, the international sport business and media convention, on 24/10/2017. Marcus Luer spoke in a panel about the development of OTT in Asia, alongside John Gleasure, commercial director of DAZN, the OTT platform of Perform Group, which launched in its fifth territory, Canada, on 20/07/2017. DAZN has already been launched in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (10/08/2016), and has been accessible in Japan since 23/08/2016.
