Premier League: former striker Kenny Dalglish to join Liverpool FC's board of directors

Kenny Dalglish has joined Liverpool FC's board of directors, the English club announced on the 10/04/2013. The former Scottish striker (102 caps, 30 goals) becomes non-executive board director, following discussions between Ian Ayre, managing director of Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers, the coach, and the American company FSG (Fenway Sports Group), owner of the club .

Kenny Dalglish will advise leaders in the management of the club. It will also play a role in the relations between the direction of Liverpool and the supporters.

"It is an honour and privilege to be asked to return to Liverpool as a director of the club. I have always said if there is anything I could do to help this club I would make myself available - when the call came I had no hesitation," said Kenny Dalglish, on the 04/10/2013. "I am looking forward to working with the board of directors and contributing to the strategic issues that affect Liverpool Football Club," he added.
