Spain: LaLiga and three other leagues create an Association of Spanish Professional Leagues

LaLiga and three other Spanish professional Leagues, ACB (basketball), Asobal (handball), and Lnfs (futsal), have created the Association of Spanish Professional Leagues (ALPE), announced at the headquarters of the Spanish Football League, in Madrid (ESP) on 30/10/2017. The objective of the Association: "to promote, extend, and defend the Spanish professional sports movement."

"The constitution of this structure also aims at ongoing cooperation with Spanish public sports institutions, the Spanish National Olympic Committee, and the Spanish Sports Federations, as well as with any other public or private, national or international entity related to sport," says the ALPE.

The Association of Spanish Professional Leagues also has the ambition "to protect the interests common to all its members, and to work to promote for this purpose different initiatives (studies, advice, assistance)." Finally, the ALPE sets itself an educational goal in the scientific and technical fields.
