The Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow (RUS), which will host seven of the 64 matches of the 2018 World Cup, including the opening match on 14/06/2018 and the final on 15/07/2018, will reopen after renovation for the Russia - Argentina friendly, on 11/11/2017. This gala match is scheduled 20 days before the draw for the final phase of the 2018 World Cup, held at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow on 01/12/2017.

Of the 12 stadiums for the 2018 World Cup, four are ready, those that have been used for the 2017 Confederations Cup: the Spartak Stadium (Otkritie Arena), the Kazan Arena, the Saint Petersburg Stadium (Krestovsky Stadium/Zenit Arena), and the Ficht Stadium in Sochi. Three of them host matches of the Russian Premier League clubs FK Spartak Moscow, FK Rubin Kazan, and FK Zenit St. Petersburg, said FIFA on 31/10/2017. Work is continuing on the other seven stadiums (see details below).
