Olympique de Marseille: positive accounts (+ € 380,000) in 2012/13 for the first time since 2009

Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) have closed their 2012/13 fiscal year (on the 30/06/2013) with a balance of + € 380,000, the first positive result since 2009, the club announced on the 08/10/2013.

Olympique de Marseille's financial statements were approved by the Board of Directors of SASP (public company for sporting activities) Olympique de Marseille, on the 03/10/2013.

Payroll decreased by 23% compared to 2011/12. "Meanwhile, debt on players contracts has been reduced by more than four in two years: from € 33m in June 2011 to € 7.5m on the 30/06/2013," the club said in a statement signed by Philippe Perez, CEO of OM.

"These very favorable financial results were achieved despite a sharp decline of the club's turnover over the period, because of a shortfall of € 30m due to non-participation in the Champions League (2012/13)," added OM.
