Facebook: 235.4 million fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (November 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative 235.4 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/11/2017. This makes LaLiga Santander the second most popular European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with an average of 11.8 million fans per club.

Real Madrid, the reigning LaLiga champions and winners of the 2016-17 Champions League, are the most followed Spanish club with more than 106 million fans on Facebook. FC Barcelona had the best growth increase with an additional 41,870 fans in the month of October 2017.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF together have a total of more than 209.6 million fans, more than 89% of the total fans of LaLiga Santander clubs, and more than the 58 clubs of the Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 Conforama combined.

With an additional 13.2% of fans (from 76,299 to 86,389), Girona FC, promoted from LaLiga 1|2|3, are the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander club with the best percentage growth on Facebook for the fifth consecutive month.
