"Parma Calcio 1913 (Serie B ConTe.it) are pleased to announce the end of the necessary procedure for the conclusion of the agreement signed in June with Jiang Lizhang, who will be officially appointed president of the club upon arrival in Parma (ITA), on 15 and 16/11/2017, at a meeting of the club's board of directors," announced the Italian club on 03/11/2017.

Jiang Lizhang, a Chinese businessman who heads the Desports Group, also owns Granada CF (LaLiga 1|2|3) and Chongqing Dangdai Lifan FC (CSL), will become the new majority shareholder of Parma Calcio 1913 by acquiring 60% of the capital. An agreement in principle had been signed by both parties in June 2017, but the transaction required a review by the Chinese authorities who finally approved the agreement.

"In the last few days, the funds needed to close the last part of the operation (acquisition of the club) have been deposited in an Italian bank account, while in recent weeks, all of the agreed deadlines for the financial consolidation of Parma Calcio 1913 have been respected," added the club.
