Serie A TIM: Atalanta present renovation project for the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia (Bergamo)

Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio (Serie A TIM) presented its project for the renovation of the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia (26,562 capacity), in Bergamo, said the club on 09/11/2017.

"The work should start at the end of the 2017-18 season and end in 2020. The capacity of the stadium will be increased to 24,000," said Atalanta, during a press conference in the presence of Antonio Percassi, club president, Luca Percassi, its CEO, and Giorgio Gori, the Mayor of Bergamo.

"The contract that establishes the transfer of ownership of the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia from the City of Bergamo to Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio (Serie A TIM) was signed this morning," announced the club, on 08/08/2017. Atalanta then became the owner of the stadium for €8.6m.

The total cost of the renovation work, which includes the reconstruction of the two corners, the construction of an underground car park as well as road work around the stadium, is estimated at €35m.
