Serie B ConTe.It: Giovanni Giammarva the new president of US Città di Palermo

"US Città di Palermo (Serie B ConTe.It) informs that the board of directors of the club met on 08/11/2017, with the appointment of a new president, Dr. Giovanni Giammarva, on the agenda," announced the Sicilian club on 10/11/2017.

The new president, who is the nephew of Judge Giovanni Falcone, murdered by the mafia on 23/05/1992, "will represent the club alongside all public institutions and sporting bodies. We congratulate Giovanni Giammarva and wish him all the best, his work will lead to the set goal, the return to the Serie A TIM," added US Palermo.

Mauricio Zamparini, the current owner of the club, had announced his resignation as president on 27/02/2017. On the same day, he signed a pre-contract with Paul Baccaglini, an Italian-American businessman, and part of Integritas Capital. The contract made Paul Baccaglini the new president of US Palermo in anticipation of the final transfer of the club's shares on 30/07/2017. However, the ownership transfer operation was never concluded.
