UK / Ireland: Amazon acquires ATP World Tour TV rights for the 2019-2023 period

Amazon has acquired, for the United Kingdom and Ireland, from ATP, the exclusive TV rights of 37 tournaments of the ATP World Tour men's tennis circuit (excluding Grand Slam tournaments), for five years, for the 2019-2023 period, indicated the group, on 17/11/2017. The monetary amount of the agreement could be £10m (€11.2m) per year, an increase of 25% according to the British newspaper, The Guardian, who announced this agreement on 01/08/2017. UK pay-TV group Sky, the tournament broadcaster until 2018, could pay an estimated £8m (€9m).

As part of the agreement, Amazon also gains "the availability of Tennis TV on Amazon Channels in the U.S." and "will also become the ATP’s exclusive third-party pay-TV partner for the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals (finals of the ATP circuit) at The O2 in London, the Queen’s Club Championships, and the Eastbourne International, with the latter two starting in 2018," explained the ATP.
