CAF: Egyptian Amr Fahmy, 34, new secretary general of the African Confederation

The Egyptian Amr Fahmy, 34 years old, proposed to the Executive Committee by CAF president Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), in accordance with the statutory provisions, has been appointed secretary general by the Executive Committee, which agreed to the nomination during a meeting held in Rabat (Morocco) on 16/11/2017, indicated CAF the same day.

Passionate about football, Amr Fahmy has studied in the FIFA Master in Management programme; Law and Sociology of Sport programmes at the Universities of Neuchâtel (SUI), Bocconi (Milan, ITA) and De Montfort (Leicester, United Kingdom), indicated the African confederation.

Currently serving with the French group Lagardère Unlimited as director of operations for Africa, Amr Fahmy had previously worked at CAF in the competitions division between 2007 and 2015, including, prior to his departure in August 2015, at the post of director of the African Cup of Nations, CAF's flagship tournament, added the African confederation on 16/11/2017.
