Switzerland: INEOS (chemicals and petrochemicals) new owner of FC Lausanne-Sport

INEOS, a Swiss-based chemical and petrochemical company, has acquired FC Lausanne-Sport (Raiffeisen Super League) via a subsidiary INEOS Football SA, on 13/11/2017. "The buyout is still pending validation by the Swiss Football League, which could take three to four weeks," said the club.

David Thompson, CEO of INEOS Football SA, became the new president of FC Lausanne-Sport on 13/11/2017. He replaced Alain Joseph, who had been at the club for 10 years (six years as vice-president, then four years as president).

"My biggest pride? Being able to use the club's resources in the best possible way to make sure that the club did not lose money, and almost earned a little," said Alain Joseph on 13/11/2017.
