Bundesliga: Werder Bremen post a turnover of €123.5m (+14%), net profit of €700,000 in 2016-17

SV Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) -- via SV Werder Bremen GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the club's association -- recorded a consolidated revenue of €123.5m for the 2016-17 fiscal year (from 01/07/2016 to 30/06/2017), an increase of 14.2% compared to the 2015-16 fiscal year (€108.1m), indicated the club during its general meeting on 20/11/2017.

This turnover figure was the highest in Werder's history for a season without a European cup competition. The club announced a net profit of €700,000 in 2016-17 (the report included an announced 2015-16 net profit of €2.8m). The club posted a net loss of €5.9m in 2014-15. The 2015-16 fiscal year was the first year in which the club had posted a net profit since 2010-11. In the previous four seasons, from 2011-12 to 2014-15, the club had accumulated €37.5m in losses.
