Belgium: DMM.com (e-commerce, JPN) acquires 80% of K Sint-Truidense VV, becomes the sole owner

The Japanese company DMM.com (e-commerce) has acquired an further 80% stake of Koninklijke Sint-Truidense Voetbalvereniging (Jupiler Pro League) which belonged to the Duchâtelet family, and has now become the sole owner, indicated the Belgian club on 15/11/2017.

DMM.com acquired 20% of the Belgian club's capital in June 2017. The Duchâtelet family had bought all of the club's shares from former owner Bart Lammens in May 2016. Outside of this transfer of the club to DMM.com, the Duchâtelet family retains ownership of the Stayen stadium and its operation, in which K Sint-Truidense VV plays.

"Belgium is one of the leading countries in European football, especially when it comes to youth training, and we are confindent that we will know the important aspects of European football through STVV. That is more important than the commercial aspect," said Yusuke Muranaka, a board member of the K Sint-Truidense VV who will become chairman of the club.
