Hertha BSC (Bundesliga) posted a record turnover of €112.3m and a net loss of €7.6m in 2016-17, announced Ingo Schiller, chief financial officer of the Berlin club at their annual general meeting on 20/11/2017.

Hertha BSC recorded an EBITDA of €11m for the 2016-17 fiscal year. The wage bill in 2016-17 amounted to €50.8m, including €44m for the playing squad. The club's debt rose from €21.2m in 2016 to €37.5m in 2017.

"For the first time, we achieved more than €100m in revenue, which is a very satisfactory result. We are on the right track, the loss is due to the exceptional bonuses paid by the club after reaching the group stage of the 2017-18 Europa League. The revenues from the European competition, as well as the increase in revenue of the TV rights contract (2017-2021 cycle in Germany) will not be included in the balance sheet until 2018. TV rights revenue should reach €54.4m in 2018, for a turnover of more than €130m," said Ingo Schiller.
