Formula 1: Formula One Group presents the new F1 logo that will be used from 2018

Formula One Group, the US holding company that holds the rights to the Formula 1, presented a new logo for the circuit, on the day of the last Grand Prix of the 2017 season in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) on 26/11/2017, which will be used from the 2018 season.

The new logo "takes inspiration from the low profile shape of the car, two cars crossing a finish line. It is incredibly bold and simple, so as we apply this in today's market and being mobile and digital led, we have much more flexibility and versatility with this logo," said Ellie Norman, marketing director of Formula One Group, on 26/11/2017.

"A number of brands, particularly in this day and age, are trying to simplify their marks to enter the digital space. We felt we had to go a little bit further and really retool to position us on a going forward basis. The old logo served F1 extremely well over the past 23 years, but in terms of where we are taking the business and our vision for the business, it is the negative space in the '1' doesn't come through candidly in digital.
