RC Deportivo La Coruña: turnover of €60.13m and net profit of €5.85m in 2016-17

Real Club Deportivo La Coruña (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover of €60.13m in the 2016-17 fiscal year (01/07/2016 to 30/06/2017), up 85% compared to the 2015-16 fiscal year (€32.48m), announced the Spanish club on 20/11/2017.

This increase is mainly due to the increase in LaLiga Santander's domestic TV rights over the 2016-2019 cycle (€2.65bn over three years). RC Deportivo La Coruña's net profit for the 2016-17 fiscal year amounted to €5.85m, compared to €6.98m in the previous fiscal year.

"Beyond this extremely positive trend that we are analysing, there is also bad news," said Tino Fernández, president of RC Deportivo La Coruña, referring to the decision of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court (highest level of jurisdiction of in Spain) annulling the renegotiation of the club's debt via the AEAT (Spanish public treasury). The club was thus forced to record a financial expense of €19.7m for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
