Facebook: 235.4 million fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (December 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative 235.4 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/12/2017. This makes LaLiga Santander the second most popular European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with an average of 11.8 million fans per club.

Real Madrid, reigning Spanish champions and winners of the 2016-17 Champions League, are the most followed Spanish club with more than 106 million fans on Facebook, and achieved the best growth increase with 51,627 additional fans during the month of November 2017.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF together have a total of more than 209.6 million fans, more than 89% of the total fans of LaLiga Santander clubs, and more than the 58 clubs of the Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 Conforama combined.

With 4.3% additional subscribers (from 86,389 to 90,077), Girona FC, promoted from LaLiga 1|2|3, are the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander club which records the best percentage growth on Facebook for the fifth consecutive month.
