Facebook: 72.7 million fans in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (December 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2017-18 Bundesliga season have a cumulative 72.7 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/12/2017. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 European league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander, and the Serie A TIM, with an average of 4 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich are the most followed German club on Facebook, with more than 43.6 million fans, and the club which recorded the highest increase in absolute value with 66,876 additional fans during the month of November.

With +1.4% of fans (from 341,608 to 346,327), RB Leipzig were the Bundesliga club with the best percentage growth on Facebook for the month of November 2017.

Six out of 18 clubs recorded a decrease in their number of fans compared to on 01/11/2017. This drop can be explained by a "cleanup" operated by Facebook, which removes the "likes" given by "bots" (robots) or by inactive or even deactivated accounts.
