Twitter: Top 100 European clubs with the most followers (December 2017)

With 46.97 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most-followed European club on Twitter, according to data collected by News Tank Football, which offers a Top 100 of the most popular European clubs on this social network, as of 01/12/2017.

To establish this Top 100, News Tank Football counts the followers of the main Twitter account, but also those of additional accounts in foreign languages. FC Barcelona, for example, has fewer followers on its Spanish account than Real Madrid CF, second in the ranking, but the Catalan team is ahead with a higher number of followers on its other accounts.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF (second with 45.32 million followers), who are well ahead in the European rankings, are the only two clubs in the Top 100 to have more than 40 million followers each. Among the 10 most followed clubs on Twitter, besides Barça and Real, are five Premier League clubs, one from the Turkish Süper Lig, one from the Ligue 1 Conforama, and one from the Serie A TIM.
