Champions League: 12 clubs out the Round of 16 from European Top 5, with 5 from the Premier League

Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, Manchester United FC, Manchester City FC, and Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League); FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, and Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander); AS Roma and Juventus FC (Serie A TIM); Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama); FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga); FC Porto (Liga NOS, POR); FC Basel (Raiffeisen Super League, SUI); FC Shakhtar Donetsk (Premier-Liga, UKR), and Beşiktaş JK (Süper Lig, TUR) are the 16 clubs qualified for the knockout stages of the 2017-18 Champions League, with the next round taking place between 13/02 and 14/03/2018.

Of these 16 clubs, 12 are from the European Top 5 leagues, including five from the Premier League. This is the first time that five clubs from the same domestic league have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League (Manchester United participates in this season's Champions League as winners of the 2016-17 Europa League) .
