OL Groupe: net loss of €20m in 2012/13, a decrease of €8m compared to 2011/12

The Board of Directors of OL Groupe, the owner of Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1), has approved the accounts for the financial year 2012/13 on the 15/10/2013. The group announced a net loss of €20 million, a decrease of 8 million euro compared to 2011/12 (€28 million), or 28.6% decrease.

"The 2012/13 financial year saw a sizeable reduction in operating expenses, leading to a significant improvement in the Group’s results, even though the club did not participate in the Champions League," said OL Groupe. The company recorded an EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation) of €10.5 million, up 48% compared to 2011/12 (€7.1 million), and a loss from ordinary activities of €16.5 million, a decrease of €17.2 million (- 51%) compared to the previous year (- €33.7 million).

OL Groupe announced a 2012/13 revenue of €137.6 million, down €9.5 million (- 6%) compared to the 30/06/2012 (€147.1 million). Revenues from TV rights are the first source of revenue for the club (€51.5 million, or 37.4% of the total), but they decreased by €20.1 million (28%) compared to 2011/12…
