Lega Serie A: Carlo Tavecchio's mission at the head of the league is extended until 29/01/2018

The FIGC federal council, chaired by the resigned president Carlo Tavecchio, have approved the extension of the provisional administration of the same Carlo Tavecchio by the Lega Serie A until 29/01/2018, announced the Italian Federation, on 09/12/2017. This extension was unanimously demanded by the general assembly of the Lega Serie A, two days earlier, on 07/12/2017.

The term of the extension, until Monday 29/01/2018, corresponds to the date of the FIGC elections, organised after the resignation of Carlo Tavecchio on 20/11/2017, one week after the elimination of the Italian national team during their World Cup qualifying match, against Sweden (0-1, 0-0), on 13/11/2017. The resigning president, who was re-elected for four years on 06/03/2017, was obligated to call new elections within 90 days, before 19/02/2018.
