Premier League: An increase in TV rights fees for 2019-2022 is "likely" (P. Bailly, NPA Conseil)

"The Premier League should at least consider maintaining (the cost of domestic TV rights for 2019-2022), which would already be a significant achievement. Both current holders (BT and Sky) are interested and the tender is open to newcomers. An increase in fees is likely in any case," said Philippe Bailly president of NPA Conseil, a consulting firm specialising in media, to News Tank Football on 12/12/2017.

The Premier League issued two calls for tenders for the 2019-2022 domestic audiovisual rights of the English Premier League on 08/12/2017. The two calls for candidates concern the broadcasting rights of 200 matches per season and the free-to-air re-transmission rights, with summaries of the 380 league matches each season. The seven lots of the 2016-2019 domestic broadcasting rights of the Premier League were sold for a total of £5.34bn (€6.1bn), on the 29/01 (to the BBC) and 10/02/2015 (to Sky and BT Sport) (see details below).
